Nokia N70 will not install piAccesslink Licence

Description

Hi ,

I have downloaded and installed piAccesslink successfully on my Nokia N70 however i am unable to use the software .

when I try to install the purchased full licence I receive the message "Unable to install compatible with piAccesslink version 1.10"

I have followed the steps you need to take for altering the app manager setting in order to allow unsigned apps to install : Applications Manager-> Options->Settings-Software Installation Settings-> ON (other options there are Signed Only and OFF)

This works as I have checked the piAccesslink on the N70 and it shows as installed .

So the error is not related to the app manager setting , it appears to be a conflict with the licence as it appears to think it is only for version 1.10 of the software where the installed version on my N70 is 1.10.1068,

My purchase authentication is listed below,

thanks

Hello Mark,

Yes, the error you're getting refers to a conflict in application and licence version. That's quite strange though because the installer of other Nokia supported phones does not conflict on the minor application version. In other words as long as the application is 1.10.x version it installs fine.

A workaround is to "manually" install the licence file in the required directory. Download the licence file (use the PIL button) from the purchaces section of your account (you need to be logged in first) and then beam it or use the Nokia PC tools to transfer it to your phone. Place the licence.pil file in the C:\documents\piAccessLink directory and then just launch piAccess Link. This should do the trick.

Well, it gets stranger.

no such directory as C:\documents\piAccessLink on my phone , hence I cant copy the file (I can email a jpg of the screen dump of the directory structure from my Windows based PC) .

Please also remember that the reason I bought the software is to use it on a Mac so I can browse the phone . Your instruction to

assumes I can actually access and browse the phone using another PC other than my Mac . (Luckily I can )

What next?

Since the C:\documents\piAccessLink directory does not exist you will have to create it with a file explorer tool (FExplorer is such a tool and is freeware). Then you can place the PIL licence file in the directory as described above.

We know that browsing files on the phone from a Mac is not possible and we're sorry if that caused any trouble, but apart from beaming a file to the phone we're not aware of any other way to do that.
