Extend AT commands on standard HandsFree connection

Description

Good morning, I'll be short. I have a HandsFree? in my car using "non standard" AT Commands to retrieve PhoneBook? entries. Phone doesn't synch them. Your application extends the set of AT Commands but waits on a port which seems to be different from the one my HandsFree? is using.

Am I missing something or is it like this? My HandsFree? still can't synch PhoneBook? entries and I see no inbound connection in PiacessLink? when HandsFree? connects. Would it be possible to do something on this? Extending with custom AT Commands connections on any port?

Thanks a lot,

Claudio.

Found later one some posts on an Audi HandsFree?. Specs of my HandsFree?: BMW Sat Nav Profession with ULF (Bluetooth) module. All of the Symbian Phones can't synch the phone book with BMW Hands Free.

I'll be glad to Beta Test any version that might get me closed to synch the phone book with my car's Hands Free.

What the Hands Free does is that it tries by default to connect to the port occupied for the built-in HF Profile on Symbian Os that does not offer the functioanlity that you want. piAccess Link does this, but you need somehow to instruct your kit to connect to the port where piAccess Link listens on.

Can you please point us to those links at all and we can work together to come to a solution if we can ? :-)

piAccess Link does what you want as long as you can find a way to connect to it. by default the bluetooth spec does _not_ state that those phone book retrieval operations are possible on the HF Profile service port. therefore it is a hit and miss, if you like process. If the kit manufacturer allows you to point to another service prot then it _will_ work.

Thanks for your answer. As you said, my HandsFree? kit tries to connect to the standard HandsFree? service port of my mobile, hoping the OS developer included the "Extra" AT Commands support which are not defined by the standard HF Profile specifications.

As PiAccess? Link extends this profile, I was wondering if it was possible for you to "override" Symbian's service and "listen" on the same port the OS would. I'm asking you if this is possible as my handsfree won't let me choose another port to connect to.

My Handsfree is a BMW preinstalled kit, known to be more "Siemens Friendly" than to other mobiles as they, as far as I understood, kind worked together to set it up. Siemens, btw, seem it included the special AT Commands in it's stack.

I'm ready to test any software version you might have, even if it might turn my phone into being useless and having to reset it completely.

Thanks, Ka.

I have the same issue with my Nokia N90 and my Audi Hands Free.

I am also very interested in Beta-testing any software you might have that can make the Symbian S60 phones support the "Extra" AT commands in combination with the Audi HF.
