Description

Reposted from a comment in ticket:40 as it wasn't responded to at all there:

I have (almost) the same problem .. so I'm assuming the same thing is happening .. whatever that is.

I've installed the app and the 7-day licence on my A1000 -- both via sis files downloaded by the phone.

The app is in the app list and I can launch it. It starts up to the point where it claims it's reading my messages. Then it quits without any sort of error.

I've restarted the phone to make sure nothing else extraneous is running, but still the same thing. I only have a couple of messages in there ..

Hi, Your problem seem quite different to the other one you mentioned.

Is it possible to give us some more info regarding your A1000 (operator, revision number and number of stored messages)

To us it looks like either something is broken on the phone's firmaware or that it maybe trying to read some corrupted message. Now we have programmed Link so that it copes with corrupted messages (beleieve me we have seen alot of those), so what is going on is quite strange.

What you can do is enable and show us the logs. You'll need to create the folder C:\Logs\SmsBackup and then have a look (beam over to your computer and paste here:-) at the Log.txt.

That should gives us some more clues. We have tested a lot with the A1000 and never had a similar issue ;-/

Unfortunately my licence ran out a fair while back and as it's a demo licence while I try the app, I can't renew it.

If you can provide your phone's IMEI (post it here or email it privately if you wish) we can extend the trial length so you can give it another go.
